Hey all!
Glad to see the positive response from Tenikle 2.0!
Quick update... We finally have our retail packaging!
It's been a long road to get to where we are. Here's why:
1.) The main reason why it's taken so long is because we wanted to improve the product based on your feedback before approaching any retailers. Re-developing Tenikle was time consuming and super expensive. But we're super proud of where we are now with the product—and it's really all thanks to you, the Kickstarter backer community.
2.) We're going to be totally honest. The other reason why it's taken so long to get here is purely because of cashflow.. It's the gross icky part of business that we didn't really know what we were getting into. No one told us, ITS CRAZY HARD!!! We've shipped roughly 27,000 total units over the past 2 years (which is absolutely nuts!!) but because of how expensive digital advertising has gotten, we've just barely been treading water... So we need to break through paying so much to Facebook for people to learn about Tenikle.
With the holidays coming up and our fancy new packaging here — we are turning to the folks who made Tenikle a reality in the first place and offering a really cool way that we can pay it forward.

So many of you lovely backers have taken advantage of the trade up program!

Tenikle 2 early adopter trade-up program.
We cannot become what we want to be by remaining what we are.
We needed to improve — for you, the best backers in the world.
So we did.
You backers, and the tens of thousands of customers after our Kickstarter, showed us how Tenikle was improving people's daily lives. Everything from traveling parents, to handicap folks who just needed an extra hand, to fidgeting office professionals who needed some inspiration.
We know we're not changin' the world — but while Tenikle's impact may be small, the personal fulfillment of bringing even the smallest bit of happiness to people is huge for us.
We learned a lot from our first product. The biggest lesson — Tenikle 1 kinda sucked...
We thought we had it, we really did. While most folks we're pleased with version 1, products started to break, degrade, and lose suction capability — resulting in some much needed consumer feedback.
Bad suction:
We learned later that the material we were using had surface quality issues that prevented a clean vacuum, and the shape of our suction cups produced some unexpectedly poor results for ease of use and suction performance. This was our highest priority to fix in Tenikle 2.
Poor materials:
Not only did the material we use from version 1 negatively affect the suction performance, but it also started to wear out. Bad. Like really bad. Lots of flakey, ugly terrible photos started coming in of our product. This was a bummer to receive because we knew these were going to end up in the trash. No bueno.
Legs breaking:
One of the hardest things we had to engineer ended up being way over-designed. We had all these crazy components to prevent the legs from breaking that ended up making it worse. It bogged down our production, and would internally melt on the second shot of molding which in turn would break much easier.
All our Kickstarter backers made Tenikle possible. We want you to have a good experience — it's just good business.

Tenikle 2 re-engineered for greatness.
You’re excitement about the concept, and constructive product feedback inherently made Tenikle 2 stick stronger, easier, longer and to more surfaces than before. Not to mention it’s now indestructible.
